Shipping Policy

Our Commitment to Safe and Reliable Delivery

At MinsonD LLC, we understand that your handcrafted natural stone sink represents a significant investment in your home. Getting it to you safely, securely, and on time is our top priority. From the moment you place your order to the moment your sink arrives at your doorstep, we are committed to providing a seamless, transparent, and worry-free shipping experience.

Our shipping policy reflects the unique nature of our products. Each sink is hand-carved from a single block of premium natural stone, making it heavy, valuable, and inherently fragile. Unlike standard kitchen fixtures, our sinks require specialized handling, custom packaging, and professional shipping methods to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. We have developed our shipping processes over years of experience, working with trusted logistics partners who share our commitment to quality and care.

This policy outlines everything you need to know about our shipping processes, including processing times, delivery options, packaging methods, international shipping, and what to do if an issue arises. We encourage you to read this policy carefully before placing your order. If you have any questions, our team is always available to assist you.

Order Processing and Preparation

Processing Time

Once you place your order, our team immediately begins the process of preparing your sink for shipment. Orders are typically processed within 3 to 5 business days after order confirmation and customer approval of the selected item. During this time, we:

  • Confirm your order details – We verify the product, size, material, and any custom specifications.

  • Select your specific piece – For products where you can choose your sink from available inventory, we reserve your selected piece.

  • Inspect the sink – Each sink undergoes a thorough quality inspection to ensure it meets our standards.

  • Photograph the sink – We document the specific piece you will receive, providing you with images for your records.

  • Obtain your approval – For select products, we require your approval of the specific piece before shipping.

  • Prepare for packaging – We begin the custom packaging process to ensure safe transit.

Factors That May Affect Processing Time

While we strive to process orders as quickly as possible, several factors may affect processing time:

  • Product availability – While we maintain extensive inventory, some products may have limited availability.

  • Custom orders – Custom sizes or designs require additional production time.

  • Seasonal demand – During peak seasons, processing times may be slightly longer.

  • Quality control – We never compromise on quality. If a sink does not meet our standards, we may need to select an alternative piece.

Order Confirmation

After you place your order, you will receive an order confirmation email. This email confirms that we have received your order and provides a summary of your purchase. Once your order is processed and ready for shipment, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.

Shipping Methods and Carriers

Domestic Shipping (United States)

We ship to all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii. For domestic orders, we partner with trusted carriers experienced in handling heavy and fragile items. The specific carrier may vary depending on your location, the weight of your order, and the shipping method selected.

Standard Shipping – Our standard shipping method provides reliable delivery with tracking. Delivery typically takes 3 to 7 business days after your order ships. The actual delivery time depends on your location and the carrier’s schedule.

Expedited Shipping – For customers who need their sink sooner, we offer expedited shipping options. Please contact us for a quote before placing your order. Expedited shipping may not be available for all products or destinations.

Freight Shipping – Due to the weight of our sinks (typically 160 to 280 pounds), many orders are shipped via freight carriers rather than standard parcel services. Freight shipping provides:

  • Specialized handling for heavy items.

  • Lift gate service for residential deliveries.

  • Appointment scheduling for delivery.

  • Enhanced tracking and communication.

Freight shipping is standard for most kitchen sinks and large bathroom vessel sinks. Our team will coordinate the delivery with you to ensure a smooth process.

International Shipping

We are proud to serve customers around the world. We ship internationally to countries across Europe, North America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia, and beyond. International shipping is available for most products, subject to destination restrictions and customs regulations.

International Carriers – For international orders, we work with global logistics partners experienced in handling natural stone shipments. These partners have the expertise to navigate customs clearance, coordinate multi-modal transport, and ensure safe delivery.

Delivery Timeframes – International delivery typically takes 7 to 14 business days after your order ships. Please note that customs clearance can cause delays beyond our control. We recommend allowing extra time for international deliveries.

Customs and Duties – International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or fees imposed by their country. We are required to declare the full value of the shipment on customs documentation. We recommend checking with your local customs office for information about potential charges before placing your order.

Restricted Destinations – Some countries may have restrictions on importing natural stone products. Please check with your local authorities before placing an order. We reserve the right to cancel orders to restricted destinations.

Shipping Costs

Domestic Shipping Costs

Shipping costs for domestic orders are calculated based on several factors:

  • Item size and weight – Heavier and larger items cost more to ship.

  • Destination – Shipping to remote areas or locations outside the continental United States may incur additional charges.

  • Shipping method – Expedited shipping costs more than standard shipping.

  • Carrier rates – Shipping costs are based on current carrier rates, which may fluctuate.

Shipping charges will be displayed at checkout before you complete your purchase. We strive to offer competitive shipping rates while ensuring the safe delivery of your valuable sink.

International Shipping Costs

International shipping costs vary significantly based on destination, weight, and shipping method. Due to the weight and value of our products, international shipping can be expensive. We recommend contacting us for a shipping quote before placing your order.

Free Shipping

We do not currently offer free shipping on our products. The cost of shipping reflects the specialized handling, custom packaging, and trusted carrier services required to deliver your sink safely.

Additional Fees

In some cases, additional fees may apply:

  • Residential delivery fees – Freight carriers may charge extra for residential deliveries.

  • Lift gate service – If you do not have a loading dock or forklift, lift gate service may be required and may incur an additional fee.

  • Remote area fees – Deliveries to remote or hard-to-reach locations may incur surcharges.

  • Storage fees – If you are not available to receive your delivery and the carrier must store the item, storage fees may apply.

We will notify you of any additional fees before your order is shipped.

Packaging and Protection

Custom Packaging Process

We take extraordinary care in packaging our sinks to ensure they arrive safely. Each sink is:

  • Carefully wrapped – The sink is wrapped in protective materials to prevent scratches and surface damage.

  • Secured in a wooden crate – Most sinks are shipped in custom-built wooden crates designed to withstand the rigors of transit. The crate provides structural protection and prevents the sink from shifting during transport.

  • Padded with foam blocks – Foam blocks and other cushioning materials are used to absorb shock and prevent movement.

  • Clearly marked – Crates are marked with handling instructions, including “Do Not Lay Flat” and “Fragile” warnings.

Why Wooden Crates Are Necessary

Natural stone sinks are heavy and can weigh 160 to 280 pounds or more. Standard cardboard boxes are not strong enough to protect these valuable items during transit. Wooden crates provide:

  • Structural integrity – The crate supports the weight of the sink and prevents crushing.

  • Shock absorption – The crate absorbs impacts that could otherwise damage the sink.

  • Security – The crate deters theft and tampering.

  • Stacking protection – The crate allows for safe stacking during transport.

Inspection Before Shipment

Before your sink is packaged, it undergoes a thorough inspection to ensure it meets our quality standards. This inspection process guarantees that only premium-quality stone is selected and prepared for delivery. We document the condition of the sink with photographs before packaging, providing a record of its condition at the time of shipment.

Handling Instructions

We provide detailed handling instructions with each shipment to assist the carrier in delivering your sink safely. These instructions include:

  • Proper lifting techniques.

  • Orientation requirements (e.g., “Do Not Lay Flat”).

  • Weight warnings.

  • Fragile handling requirements.

Tracking Your Order

Tracking Information

Once your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information. This email includes:

  • Your tracking number.

  • A link to the carrier’s tracking website.

  • Estimated delivery date.

  • Carrier contact information.

You can use this tracking number to monitor the progress of your shipment through the carrier’s website. We recommend checking your tracking information regularly for updates.

Delivery Notifications

Many carriers provide delivery notifications via email or text message. These notifications alert you when your package is out for delivery and when it has been delivered. We recommend signing up for these notifications to stay informed about your delivery.

What to Do If Tracking Is Not Updated

If your tracking information has not been updated for several days, please contact the carrier directly to inquire about the status of your shipment. If the carrier is unable to provide information, please contact us and we will assist you in resolving the issue.

Delivery Process

Residential Deliveries

Most of our orders are delivered to residential addresses. Freight carriers typically require someone to be present to receive the delivery. The delivery driver will:

  • Call you to schedule a delivery appointment.

  • Confirm the delivery address and any special instructions.

  • Arrive with the shipment on the scheduled date.

  • Require a signature upon delivery.

Delivery Appointment Scheduling

For freight deliveries, the carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment. This ensures that someone is available to receive the shipment and that the delivery can be completed efficiently. Please provide accurate contact information when placing your order to ensure the carrier can reach you.

What to Expect on Delivery Day

On the scheduled delivery day:

  1. The carrier will arrive – The driver will bring the shipment to your location.

  2. Inspect the package – Before accepting delivery, inspect the exterior of the crate or box for visible damage.

  3. Note any damage – If damage is visible, note it on the delivery receipt and photograph it immediately.

  4. Sign for delivery – You will be asked to sign for the shipment. If there is damage, note “Damaged” on the delivery receipt.

  5. Move the crate indoors – If possible, move the crate indoors or to a secure location. If the crate is too heavy to move, arrange for assistance.

Lift Gate Service

Many of our sinks are too heavy for standard tailgate delivery. Lift gate service may be required for residential deliveries. A lift gate is a hydraulic platform on the back of the truck that lowers the crate to ground level. If you do not have a loading dock or forklift, lift gate service is typically necessary.

Lift gate service may incur an additional fee. We will notify you of this fee before your order is shipped.

Delivery to Business Addresses

If you are shipping to a business address, please ensure that:

  • The business has a loading dock or forklift if required.

  • Someone is available to receive the delivery during business hours.

  • The delivery address is clearly marked and accessible.

Inspecting Your Delivery

Why Inspection Is Critical

Natural stone sinks are valuable and fragile. While we take every precaution to ensure safe delivery, damage can occasionally occur during transit. Inspecting your delivery immediately upon arrival is essential to protect your investment and ensure that any issues are addressed promptly.

Visible Damage

If damage is visible upon delivery:

  1. Note the damage on the delivery receipt – Clearly describe the damage and take photos.

  2. Photograph the damage – Take clear, well-lit photos of the damage from multiple angles.

  3. Photograph the packaging – Take photos of the exterior and interior of the crate or box.

  4. Contact us immediately – Notify us within 48 hours of delivery.

  5. Do not dispose of the packaging – Keep the crate, packaging materials, and damaged item until the claim is resolved.

Concealed Damage

Sometimes damage is not visible until the crate is opened. If you discover concealed damage:

  1. Photograph the damage – Take clear, well-lit photos of the damage from multiple angles.

  2. Photograph the packaging – Take photos of the interior packaging materials.

  3. Contact us immediately – Notify us within 48 hours of delivery.

  4. Keep all packaging – Do not dispose of the crate or packaging materials until the claim is resolved.

Time Limit for Damage Claims

You must notify us within 48 hours of delivery if your item arrives damaged. Claims made after 48 hours may not be honored. This time limit is standard in the shipping industry and allows us to file claims with the carrier in a timely manner.

Shipping Damage and Claims

Our Responsibility

We take responsibility for ensuring that your sink is properly packaged and in good condition when it leaves our facility. However, once the shipment is in the hands of the carrier, the risk of loss or damage during transit is generally borne by the carrier.

Carrier Claims Process

If your sink arrives damaged:

  1. We will assist you – We will help you file a claim with the carrier.

  2. Provide documentation – We will provide the carrier with documentation of the shipment, including packaging photos and inspection records.

  3. Carrier investigation – The carrier will investigate the claim and determine liability.

  4. Claim resolution – If the claim is approved, the carrier will compensate for the damage. We will work with you to arrange a replacement or refund.

What Is Covered

Carrier claims typically cover:

  • Physical damage to the sink caused during transit.

  • Loss of the shipment.

What Is Not Covered

Carrier claims typically do not cover:

  • Damage caused by improper handling after delivery.

  • Damage caused by storage or installation.

  • Natural variations in stone that are not damage.

  • Minor cosmetic issues that do not affect functionality.

Freight Insurance

We strongly recommend purchasing freight insurance for your shipment. Freight insurance provides complete protection for your order against all risks of loss, theft, or damage during transit, based on its full invoice value. With insurance:

  • Complete protection – You are protected if your item arrives broken, cracked, or with any shipping-related damage.

  • Peace of mind – You can rest assured that your investment is protected.

  • Faster resolution – Insurance claims are typically processed more quickly than carrier claims.

We can arrange freight insurance for your order. Please contact us for a quote.

Refused Deliveries

What Happens If You Refuse Delivery

If you refuse delivery of your order, the shipment will be returned to us. Refused deliveries are subject to:

  • Return shipping costs – You will be responsible for the cost of return shipping.

  • Restocking fees – A restocking fee of up to 20% of the purchase price may apply.

  • No refund of original shipping costs – Original shipping costs are non-refundable.

When to Refuse Delivery

You should only refuse delivery if:

  • The crate is visibly damaged and you suspect the sink is damaged.

  • The carrier attempts to deliver to the wrong address.

  • You have already resolved the issue with us and we have instructed you to refuse delivery.

If you refuse delivery due to visible damage, please photograph the damage and contact us immediately.

Lost or Stolen Packages

Packages Marked as Delivered

If a shipment is marked as “delivered” by the carrier but you have not received it, you must contact the carrier directly to initiate a trace. Once an order is confirmed as delivered by the carrier, responsibility transfers to the customer.

Our Policy on Lost Packages

We are not responsible for packages confirmed as delivered by the carrier and cannot replace or refund such orders. We may assist with carrier documentation upon request, but liability remains with the carrier.

Preventing Package Theft

To prevent package theft:

  • Be present for delivery – Arrange to be home when the delivery is scheduled.

  • Provide delivery instructions – Specify a secure location for delivery if you will not be home.

  • Use a shipping address where someone is available – Consider shipping to your workplace or a neighbor’s address.

  • Request signature required – Signature confirmation ensures that the package is not left unattended.

Shipping Address Changes

Changing Your Shipping Address

If you need to change your shipping address after placing an order, please contact us immediately. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but we cannot guarantee that changes can be made once an order has been processed.

Address Accuracy

You are responsible for providing accurate shipping information when placing your order. Please double-check your address before submitting your order. We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by incorrect or incomplete addresses.

Undeliverable Packages

If a package is undeliverable due to an incorrect address, the package will be returned to us. You will be responsible for:

  • Return shipping costs.

  • Reshipping costs to send the package to the correct address.

  • Any storage fees incurred by the carrier.

Customs and International Shipping

Customs Clearance

International shipments must clear customs in the destination country. Customs clearance can cause delays, which are beyond our control. We recommend allowing extra time for international deliveries.

Customs Documentation

We are required to provide accurate customs documentation for all international shipments. This documentation includes:

  • A description of the goods.

  • The value of the goods.

  • The country of origin.

  • The harmonized system (HS) code for the product.

Duties and Taxes

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or fees imposed by their country. These charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping cost. We recommend checking with your local customs
